Overview: Join a dedicated team committed to ensuring the nutritional well-being of students in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. The Child Nutrition Program is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement operations. This role is vital in maintaining the quality and consistency of the food services provided to our schools.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the purchasing of food, supplies, and equipment for the Child Nutrition Program. Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and the best pricing. Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory, and related documentation. Support the development and implementation of purchasing strategies to optimize budget and resource management. Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis related to procurement activities.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or a related role, preferably within the food service or educational sector. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
