Clinical Research Coordinator RN/LPN East Jefferson General Hospital
The Clinical Research Coordinator supports the Rare cancer program. Works with research director to coordinate research projects, clinical trials, and perform duties as required by the protocol. Responsible for recruiting, screening and enrolling patients in study protocols. Review the patient chart to ensure patient meets inclusion/exclusion criteria for clinical research trial. Administer informed consent to patients (review and discuss trial and all associated risks and benefits). Obtain medical histories, vital signs, and collect blood samples via venipuncture. Assist physicians during procedures. Collect tissue samples during these procedures. Monitor patients for adverse events(complaints and side effects), compliance and progress through completion of study. Receives used and unused study medication from patient and verify patient compliance. Collects and reports all patient data using EDC software.
Bachelor's degree or RN with 2 years of related work experience or LPN with 3 years of work related experience.
Oncology experience preferred but not required.
