Must be a graduate from an accredited school by the Board of Practical Nursing.  Must have a current license to practice in the State of Louisiana. IV delineated. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the LPN is responsible for direct and indirect nursing care of the adult and geriatric patients to whom she has been assigned. Incorporates the nursing process into the total plan of care for those patients as directed by the registered nurse. Demonstrates ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in dealing with patients, physicians, co-workers, and visitors. Nurse practices within the legal scope of practice as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nursing.
