Nurse Practitioner - 5970 Pulmonary Medicine East Jefferson General Hospital

Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program. Masters of Science in Nursing. Licensure from La State Board of Nursing, Professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Current American heart BLS card. Must have good working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding. Must possess good communication and people skills. Must be able to use a copier, fax machine and computer. The nurse practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse educated in a specific area of care and certified by a nationally accrediting agency. In accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, the nurse practitioner, in collaboration with the physician, provides comprehensive health assessments, determines diagnosis, and manages the health care needs of patient. Health promotion, illness and disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic illnesses are emphasized. Must be an Acute Care NP. Previous experience in Pulmonary Care is highly preferred.
