Provides for the delivery of patient care through the utilization of the nursing process. Directs and guides patients/family teaching. Directs and guides ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Assists when indicated, in the orientation,skill development and evaluation of nursing personnel, and technical staff. Responsible for planning and implementing patient care standards in diagnostic,clinical and emergency procedures. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Have current license to practice in the state of Louisiana. Two or more years experience in a special care unit or 4-5 years of general hospital nursing experience. Conscious sedation delineation preferred. Must have American Heart BLS. ACLS required (within 6 months of hire).
