RN Nursing Director Surgery East Jefferson General Hospital

 BSN required.  Master's preferred. Qualified professional with appropriate clinical/technical training and experience.  Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in an Operating Room setting and 3 years supervisory experience.  Licenses, registration, certifications, and other credentials are required.

Functions as a leader with 24-hour accountability to create an environment to fulfill the Hospital's mission and meet or exceed its goals.  Serves as an effective communicator conveying the Hospital's mission to all team members within their department or service.  Support staff and encourage them to act with appropriate authority and responsibility for all work processes with which they are involved, providing opportunities for performance improvement.  Is responsible for the department's continuous, effective operation; the continuous quality improvement activities; and the department's integration into the Hospital's overall mission.  Retains ultimate responsibility for all activities listed in the essential functions of the job description. Ensures that particular resource needs ar recommended to the Hospital regarding adequate supply of space, equipment, and other resources necessary to meet patient needs at all times.
