LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) is seeking an experienced candidate for a Senior IT Analyst position that will be responsible for Networking and Voice Communications systems. LSUHSC-NO’s network consists of over 30,000 switch ports, an expansive and expanding wireless footprint, and VoIP telephony.   This position is domiciled on the downtown New Orleans campus but will require occasional travel to support infrastructure for LSUHSC-NO and its affiliates at remote locations around the New Orleans metro areas and across Southeast Louisiana.   This position is eligible for remote work up to three days per week once approved.   If you are motivated, can quickly learn new technologies, and want to make an impact within the LSU System and the State of Louisiana, please apply for this position.

 

The senior IT Analyst will perform the following duties:

  • Designing, planning, and proposing networking and voice communication systems.
  • Configuring, deploying, documenting, renewing, and upgrading hardware, software, and/or subscriptions associated with networking and voice communication systems.
  • Administering, managing, and monitoring of networking and voice communication systems.
  • Troubleshooting issues which jeopardize the stability and reliability of networking and voice communication systems.
  • Research new applications and technologies to enhance services.
  • Meet with vendors and attend webinars and training sessions to stay abreast of the changing IT landscape.
  • Assists with the management of all networking and voice communication servers, services, and applications.

Required skill sets and experience:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and/or complex ideas
  • Advanced knowledge of the OSI model and IPv4/IPv6 subnetting
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols
  • Advanced knowledge of networking technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols
  • Advanced knowledge of Voice over IP (VoIP)
  • Ability to provide 24/7/365 on-call technical support including after-hours and weekend work.

 

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 10+ years of networking or VoIP experience is required.
