IT Network Analyst
This position is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, administering, monitoring, and providing the day-to-day operations of all networking and voice communications systems that are vital to the operations of LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) and all of its affiliates.
The junior IT Analyst will perform the following duties:
- Assists with designing, planning, and proposals for all LSUHSC network and voice communication systems.
- Assists with configuration, deployment, documentation, renewal, and upgrade for hardware, software, and/or subscriptions associated with all LSUHSC network and voice communication systems.
- Assists with administration, management, and monitoring of all LSUHSC network and voice communication systems.
- Tier 1/Level1 (Identification, Investigating, and Remedying) Troubleshooting of issues which jeopardize the stability and reliability of all LSUHSC network and voice communication systems.
- Research new applications and technologies to enhance services
- Meet with vendors and attend webinars and training sessions to stay abreast of the changing IT landscape.
- Assists with the management of all servers, services, and applications under the purview of Enterprise Networking.
- Ability to create custom applications as needed to automate tasks
Required skill sets and experience:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and/or complex ideas.
- Basic knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model and IPv4/IPv6 subnetting.
- Basic knowledge of standard communication protocols, such as DNS, DHCP, IP, TCP, and UDP.
- Basic knowledge of networking technologies, such as LAN, VLAN, WAN, WLAN, and Load Balancing.
- Basic knowledge of Routing Protocols.
- Basic knowledge of Cisco System Voice over IP phones.
- Ability to provide 24/7/365 on-call technical support including after hours and weekend work.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution and 2+ years of networking or related IT experience is required.
