Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Advanced Learning and Simulation of the School of Medicine, the Simulation Technologist shall have a record of achievement as a clinician, educator, and administrator. Under the direction of the Simulation Manager, the Simulation Technologist will work closely with content experts, course/program faculty, and simulation faculty to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate simulation-based education and events within the LSUHSC Learning Center and the Center for Advanced Learning and Simulation. The Simulation Technologist will also serve as a simulator operator by programming, testing, and running scenarios with faculty. The Simulation Technologist will help with the setup, integration, maintenance, and operation of simulators and simulation lab equipment. They will also assist with stocking and maintaining equipment and supplies needed in the LSUHSC Learning Center and the Center for Advanced Learning and Simulation.

Required Education: Bachelor's in EMT-Paramedic

Required: Three years of clinical experience as a Paramedic with two years of experience as an educator for healthcare professionals

*An additional 4 years of clinical experience as a paramedic can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree

Preferred: EMT-Paramedic, Associate Degree, Bachelor in Healthcare

Preferred: Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, Certified Healthcare Simulation Operation Specialist

5 years of clinical experience as a paramedic; Experience with healthcare professionals and skill training with program administration, student education, and continuing medical education. Experience as a clinician and an educator in clinical settings.
