LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our faculty as a Nurse Scientist. Our School of Nursing is recognized for its excellence within an academic health sciences center environment, offering a unique opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary research and innovation. Our nursing faculty have the opportunity to educate future nurses at the BSN, MN/MSN, DNP and PhD levels, including working in state-of-the-art simulation laboratories. This role includes conducting research, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, engaging in faculty practice, and pursuing entrepreneurial and consultative activities. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong research focus in cancer care, including cancer prevention, treatment, survivorship, or palliative care. Incumbent will mentor students and junior faculty, participate in curriculum development, and promote excellence in cancer care research and nursing education; Engage in high-impact interdisciplinary research collaborations within the academic health sciences center and across diverse fields, contributing to the broader scientific community; Publish original research in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals and present findings at national and international conferences to advance the body of knowledge in cancer nursing and healthcare; Secure research grants from federal agencies, foundations, and other external sources to support scholarly activities and advance innovative cancer care interventions; Contribute to the academic community by mentoring junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students, fostering their development as emerging nurse scientists; Build partnerships with healthcare organizations, research centers, and clinical networks to translate research into practice and improve cancer patient outcomes; Serve as a research mentor for PhD and DNP students, providing guidance on dissertation projects and fostering scholarly excellence; Participate in curriculum development, particularly in areas related to oncology nursing, evidence-based practice, and research methodologies; Mentor students and junior faculty in writing for publication, grant writing, and presenting research at scholarly meetings; and engage in community outreach and advocacy initiatives to promote cancer prevention, education, and research within diverse populations.

Minimum Qualifications
• Doctorate
• Doctor of Philosophy [PhD] in Nursing or related field
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Louisiana as a Registered Nurse by start date
• Three (3) years of recent nursing experience
• Evidence of success in an extramurally funded program of research; Active engagement in research; Current evidence of successful dissemination of research findings. Ability to manage research conceptually & practically within a data driven organization
Preferred Qualifications
• PhD
• Candidates pursuing a career in Nursing Research
• Academic leadership/administration experience; National recognition as a leader in the field of research
