LSUHSC (LSU Health Sciences Center) is in search of a Dental Hygienist to teach dental hygiene 
students at the LSUHSC dental hygiene program in Alexandria, Louisiana. This program has 6 students 
in each of the 2 clinical dental hygiene years for a total of 12 students. Responsibilities include teaching in 
pre-clinical, clinical, radiology labs, dental materials labs, courses, and local anesthesia lab. Students see 
patients in an on campus 5-unit dental hygiene clinic. Faculty oversee this care and provide feedback and 
instruction consistent with the program guidelines shared with LSU (Louisiana State University) New 
Orleans. Faculty ensure the connection of the classroom technology to the main New Orleans campus by 
contacting local or New Orleans I.T. specialists as needed. Some travel is involved both locally to dental 
offices and clinics to maintain established sites for enrichment and to New Orleans for graduation and 
other type events.

Faculty at LSUA are calibrated with faculty at the main campus in New Orleans as they teach and 
manage the 5-unit clinic. Other duties include ensuring maintenance of all CODA (Commission on Dental 
Accreditation) standards and the delivery of didactic, pre-clinical, lab and clinical aspects of the program. 
Faculty work with students as advisors and chairside educators.
