Family & Community Specialist

LSU Health Sciences Center, Human Development Center seeks to hire two Family & 
Community Specialist to manage all aspects of family participation in the Early Head Start 
program from recruitment to transition. This includes overall eligibility, recruitment, selection, 
enrollment, attendance, and transition support activities. In addition, the Family & Community 
Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance, training, monitoring and analysis of 
all family needs data. The person in this position will also oversee implementation of program 
policies and procedures guiding family and community engagement to include family 
partnership agreements, parenting education, and parent participation in program governance.
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field and two years of experience in a social 
service agency that supports families is required. Master’s degree and/or Head Start experience 
preferred.
