EHR REVENUE CYCLE DIRECTOR - IT ADMINISTRATION

Summary:
Responsible for the oversight and direction of all staff and activities related to the implementation, maintenance and optimization of electronic health record revenue cycle applications;Guides and directs the ongoing development of EHR applications to best support Health System revenue cycle functions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or other related field,ORin lieu of degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations and/or healthcare revenue cycle software configuration;
- 2 years of leadership experience in a healthcare environment;
- Project management experience;
- Certification in applicable Epic Application(s)ORsuccessfully obtains such certification within a reasonable time from hire date as may be required by North Oaks;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including strong Excel skills;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in related field;
- Project management certification.
Manual and Physical Skill Required:
Long periods of sitting and working at the computer and on the phone.Frequent movement throughout hospital for meetings within other departments.

Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to:
1.Facilitate and direct best strategies for the build and optimization of all revenue cycle applications;
2.Develop both long and short-term optimization and maintenance strategies;
3.Responsible for global knowledge of the revenue cycle and ensuring key indicators are timely monitored in order to quickly address and resolve system build issues;.
4.Provide guidance and direction to the Revenue Cycle Application Manager and/or revenue cycle application teams as needed;
5.Set clear performance expectations for quality and performance and hold team members accountable;
6.Analyze and validate workflows (revenue cycle and otherwise) and facilitate adaption of system to support patient safety, quality, compliance, security, and efficiency;
7.Oversee change control processes as it relates to revenue cycle and ensure proper analysis and communication is completed;
8.Assist with the development of project work plans and manage special projects as needed;
9.Establish and facilitate excellent working relationships with leadership and all individuals/teams/committees throughout the Health System;
10.Interface with vendors and third parties as needed;
11.Closely review contract terms and conditions;
12.Initiate and/or sign-off on purchase requests and invoices as needed;
13.Participate in developing budgets;
14.Ensure that revenue cycle applications processes for test, build, and training facilitate support best practice as it relates to revenue cycle along with patient safety, quality, compliance, security and efficiency;
15.Plan and lead system update activities for respective application teams;
16.Collaborate with leadership and end-users to identify opportunities for optimization of system;
17.Serve as a system resource as it relates to the inter-relation of revenue cycle application build and actual revenue cycle workflows, processes and procedures;
18.Proactively communicate/report to departmental leadership the status/progress of work and any other relevant information as related to all application teams’ activities;
19.Responsible for ensuring that system build activities support regulatory requirements as directed;;
20.Lead efforts to identify possible impacts of system build activities across all applications, interfaces and/or third-party applications and to find the best integrated solution(s) possible;
21.Maintain professional expertise by attending seminars/courses as required, review of published literature and self-education;
22.Timely perform employee evaluations and orientation in a consistent and meaningful manner;
23.Perform other duties as assigned; and
24.Follow North Oaks Health System compliance programs and all regulatory guidelines.
