MOBILE CARE DRIVER - POPULATION HEALTH
Status: Part Time
Shift: 20 hours per week. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 8-5 pm with additional hours available during the week. Must be available to work 1-2 Saturdays per month as needed.

Summary:
Responsible for driving mobile care vehicle to and from various locations according to specified schedule. Assists patients/clients into and out of mobile unit. Operates bus in compliance with traffic regulations and health system policies. Provides for patient/client safety and comfort. Provides for vehicle maintenance per established health system policies.

FACTORS RELATING TO THE JOB
A. Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
1. Previous Experience Required:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
2. Specialized And/or Technical Education Required:
Valid commercial or chauffeur's license.
On-the-job training provided.
Must be 21 years old and meet North Oaks criteria for driving a North Oaks vehicle.
3. Manual or Physical Skill Required:
Ability to operate all equipment related to the job including but not limited to:
- Cellular Phone
- Maintenance tools
- Hydraulic lift
- Safety devices for securing patients/clients
- Vehicle emergency equipment including AED
Ability to learn CPR, first aid, defensive driving or other appropriate behavioral management techniques.
4. Physical Effort Required:
Intermittent exertion in positioning, lifting, transferring patients/clients, equipment or other materials. Intermittent standing, walking, stooping, bending, pushing/pulling and kneeling required. Sitting predominant with fine and gross motor skills of upper and lower extremities required for operation of various bus controls. Mobile Health Driver position is classified as D.O.T. 913.463-014, with a physical demand level of medium.

Responsibilities:
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
1. Drives vehicle to and from facilities within North Oaks Health System and throughout the community as scheduled/coordinated by leadership team.
2. Follows specified daily time schedule for transport to and from various locations according to specified time schedule. Works with supervisor to develop mobile vehicle schedules and routes.
3. Performs transfers, lifting and guarding techniques as necessary for assistance of patients/clients into and out of vehicle.
4. Follows all rules and regulations governing safe operation of a motor vehicle.
5. Follows North Oaks Health System’s Compliance Program and Federal and State Regulatory guidelines.
6. Follows all health system policies and procedures for employee performance during cases of motor vehicle emergencies or accidents.
7. Assists in maintaining current computerized schedule and is responsible for logging all corrective and preventative maintenance completed on the vehicle.
8. Follows all health system policies and procedures for fueling bus using business credit card. Turns in all receipts to the department leader(s).
9. Performs duties related to bus maintenance including completion of vehicle inspection report before/after bus operation, report of maintenance problems to department leader(s), and completion of any other specified vehicle log.
10. Meets the needs of patients/clients in an appropriate, safe manner. Regulates heating, lighting and ventilation systems in mobile unit for patient/client comfort.
11. Follows infection control guidelines for maintaining cleanliness of vehicle interior and handling patient/client occurrences. Maintains mobile unit inventory of appropriate cleaning supplies. Performs regular maintenance for cleanliness of bus exterior.
12. Complies with department policies, procedures and objectives as well as safety, environmental, infection control and quality assurance programs.
13. Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings and attends other meetings as required.
14. Communicate at an appropriate level necessary for interaction with all Health System personnel, patients, and clients.
15. Follow North Oaks Health System’s Compliance Programs and Federal and State Regulatory guidelines.
16. Will provide set up and support functions at mobile care events.
17. Performs other duties to assist with mobile care events as directed by supervisor. These duties may include, but not limited to, assisting with patient/visitor flow and logistics, customer service/patient greeting, providing educational/promotional items to customers, and cleaning exam rooms between patient visits/interactions.
18. Transport labs when required to assigned laboratory upon return to home base.
19. Performs all other duties as required or assigned.
