Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal customers to plan, design, and develop effective and secured information systems to help improve performance, increase productivity and achieve the business goals. Responsible for the support and upkeep of our IP network and possess and extensive understanding of network services and protocols.Duties include but not limited to:1. Regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion in dealing with changes to the network, outages and managing projects.2. Manage small teams focused on improving the scalability, flexibility and overall management of the network infrastructure.3. Participate in the design and review of a distributed Microsoft Windows infrastructure.4. Provide top tier support administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Exchange 2003 / 2010 and mail gateways in a distributed Exchange environment and ensure best practices are implemented.5. Provide top tier support administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting for Windows 2003/2008R2 Active Directory (AD) and ensure best practices are implemented.6. Provide top tier support administering, monitoring and troubleshooting Citrix and VM Ware ESX servers.7. Manage and Monitor Windows OS servers and Microsoft systems.8. Manage and troubleshoot Group Policy at all levels (local, OU, site, etc).9. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to systems design, systems configuration, testing and evaluation, and network configuration.10. Provides leadership and guidance to the Network team and serves as the technical POC for network and service desk technicians on a daily basis. Maintain a positive team environment.11. Install, configure and maintain the organizations network and have a deep understanding of frame relay. ISDN, MPLS and AVPN networks.12. Assist in the management of implementation and upgrade projects related to network and operations.13. Responsible for network design, documentation, and change management.14. Monitors and quickly resolves service anomalies in network traffic, protocols, security breaches, viruses, system abuse or attacks, server based applications, host connectivity and utilization by methodically and responsibly following industry recognized and appropriate corrective actions.15. Schedules, communicates and performs routine maintenance and upgrades on LAN/WANhardware and software including routers, hubs, switches, firmware, firewalls, backbone and related equipment or services from vendors such as T1 and ISDN circuits.16. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system design, system configuration, and testing and network configuration.17. Responsible for maintaining an inventory of all networking hardware, software and peripherals.18. Participate in the development, testing and implementation of disaster recovery procedures for critical systems.19. Produces and furnishes Technical Services Director with timely reports on work activity, results and outstanding issues. Informs the Technical Services Director about the status of all departmental projects and activities related to network operations.20. Maintains an awareness of new and emerging technologies which could be useful in supporting and/or advancing the initiatives and goals of IT and NOHS. Assists in research and development of improvements to Information Technology environment.21. Assists in establishing department policies and procedures regarding network and network infrastructure.22. Performs other duties as assigned.23. Maintains a professional image and reflect the department and hospital’s philosophy of excellence and professionalism in customer service while directly performing the job and at all times while representing the department and the hospital.24.
