Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS)
SELAHEC, in conjunction with the Louisiana Office of Public Health Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program, is seeking applicants for a Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) to work in the Louisiana Office of Public Health Infectious Disease Epidemiology.
Regional Disease Intervention Specialist will be hired to bolster the existing regional public health teams and assist in their COVID and other infectious disease surveillance & response activities. The DIS will work closely with the Regional Epidemiologist and will be responsible for conducting case interviews, providing public health recommendations,
conducting data entry and case processing in various surveillance databases, assisting in outbreak investigations, and assisting the regional teams where needed.
Candidates for the position must hold a bachelor’s degree, or four years of related experience. Public health or social services experience preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle. The position does require the DIS to physically be in Region 5 one day a week and in Region 6 one day a week.
One (1) position to be filled and domiciled in Alexandria.
