The Human Research Protection Office (HRPO) implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s as well as Federal, State, and local laws pertaining to Tulane University Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) to ensure compliance and to educate investigators, IRB Members, research community, and others engaged in research with human subjects.
The Assistant Director will work with the HRPO Director to oversee the daily activities of the Tulane University Biomedical and Social/Behavioral Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) assuring clinical research investigators, coordinators, and research staff are conducting research activities in a professional and ethical manner, and following the Good Clinical Practices model. This position will provide supervision and assistance to the HRPO staff in meeting departmental and organizational goals in a courteous, efficient, and timely matter.
This is a high profile, high volume office that requires a self-directed individual who is organized, detail-oriented and possesses a high level of interpersonal skills. Individual must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
