The Assistant Director of Admissions for Florida is based in the state of Florida and recruits exclusively from that area. Responsible for monitoring trends, analyzing prospect statistics, and working independently to develop and execute a recruitment plan in Florida, one of our top ten states. Process must be data-informed, and goals must support the overall institutional needs of Tulane, with special focus on attracting a more racially, ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse student body that includes students who are first in their families to attend college.

The Assistant Director makes frequent public presentations to groups of prospective students describing Tulane University, its programs, and services. This position develops relationships with high school guidance counselors and directors of community-based organizations, forming partnerships in support of recruitment goals. The Assistant Director makes admission recommendations on applicants from the territory and serve on admission and scholarship committees.

Responsibilities include oversight and management of the Florida territory, developing and implementing a recruitment and enrollment plan, organizing a travel schedule, timely reconciliation of travel expenses, working with constituency groups to achieve enrollment goals, and representing Tulane to prospective students, parents, and high school counselors within the region. Recruitment activities include high school visits, college fairs, college search, and case studies workshops, interviews, receptions, and designated conferences. The candidate is expected to spend time on Tulane’s Uptown campus several times per year. 

The Assistant Director works independently, yet collaborate with Tulane colleagues, have a strong work ethic, and be willing to work evenings and weekends to meet job responsibilities. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrate initiative, creativity, enthusiasm, and ambition, as well as possessing strong organizational skills and technical proficiency. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree, home office space, and reliable transportation due to travel requirements.
