Reporting to the Director for the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the success of BIPOC graduate students on the uptown and downtown campuses will be the primary function of this role. The Associate Director will also be charged with developing a comprehensive strategy to support Diversity within Spiritual Life at Tulane (Formerly Religious Life). The Associate Director will support graduate and professional students at Tulane University using an advocacy based, trauma informed approach that emphasizes the diverse experiences of spiritual meaning making in our society. They are directly responsible for leadership and cultural identity development of graduate students through providing services, advocacy, and programming that complements the graduate student experience and centers the needs of students pursuing a Professional Certification, Masters or Doctoral degree at Tulane. The Associate Director is also expected to offer culturally responsive experiential learning opportunities that support the mission of the office and the Carolyn Barber Pierre Center for Intercultural Life. The person in this role is instrumental in advocating with and fostering a strong sense of belonging, intercultural, and intracultural affinity across the Tulane campus community regardless of the graduate program a student is enrolled in. The Associate Director will also supervise a Senior Program Coordinator and student staff for the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
