Business Development Associate
The School of Medicine Office of Research Business Development is designed to bridge the gap between private industry and venture capital technology development needs and School of Medicine and Primate Center research and commercialization expertise. The Business Development Associate (BDA) will work to support the Chief Business Officer (CBO), as the CBO and Research Business development Office act as a single point of contact to identify potential opportunities for contracting with the private sector through industry-sponsored research service contracts, ventures and alliances providing research expertise, research management and research facilities. Job requires some travel to support the CBO, approximately 10-20% of the time.
The Office of Research Business Development is a developing area reporting as a key component of the SOM Dean's office. The BDA supports the CBO with all aspects of building new collaborations between researchers and industry partners, and managing relationships with key stakeholders to enable new projects. They will have the ability to develop an in-depth knowledge of the SOM and Primate Center research capabilities and assist the CBO in matching them to understand industry needs in order to foster appropriate business relationships which leverage Tulane's strengths. The BDA works at the direction of the CBO and in cooperation with all internal, pertinent offices such as in-house counsel, the University Office of Research, the Office of Technology Transfer, IRB, Office of Advancement, Communications and Marketing, etc.
