The Director Research Pharmacy has overall responsibility of the Research Pharmacy operations in support of outpatient and inpatient clinical investigational drug trials, ensuring safe and effective patient care. Major responsibilities include oversight, direction and supervision of the day to day operations and is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with institutional policies and procedures, and in cooperation with other departments, while following Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA and JCAHO requirements. The position works closely with the Assistant Dean for Clinical Research, the Director of Clinical and Translational Research Unit (CTU), and other departmental leaderships, IRB and Tulane’s HRPO. This is a hands-on position. Coverage of clinical trials on weekends may be necessary.
