A full time Licensed Mental Health Consultant will provide early childhood mental health consultation services to children under the age of 6 years enrolled in early learning centers and family child care homes in Southern Louisiana and their childcare caregivers and families. LMHC should be able to clinically conceptualize a wide variety of cases involving young children and their caregivers with challenging behaviors, attachment and/or relationship problems, developmental delays, and/or other mental health issues and make appropriate referrals. LMHC will also provide consultation and training to multidisciplinary professionals. Visits to child care providers will primarily be made in person with occasional meeting occurring remotely through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Training and supervision will be provided throughout the year.
The LMHC will support be available to support the training and professional growth of MHCs who are working towards licensure. This will occur through a variety of means, which may include: allowing pre-licensure MHCs to shadow them while providing consultation services; leading book clubs; leading case conference presentations; shadowing pre-licensure consultants; presenting at consultant trainings either in-person or via HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform; and other supports and training as indicated. LMHCs may be asked to provide feedback to supervisors related to pre-licensure MHC growth.
