The Medical Research Technician performs microbiology and cellular immunology experiments with minimal supervision in Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratories with a focus on understanding how human and simian immunodeficiency viruses establish reservoirs to hide from the host immune system. This position assists with the operations of the laboratory including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and general laboratory maintenance. This position will receive training in biosafety procedures by the Principal Investigator and Tulane’s Office of Biosafety.
