Nurse Specialist

This position is responsible in assisting in the direct care of patients, in accordance with University policies, clinical nursing guidelines/scope of practice and applicable regulations for the Sickle Cell Center of Southern Louisiana (SSCSL).   This position is responsible for the clinical aspects of accreditation processes and regulatory compliance.  The Nurse Specialist have some research responsibilities in conjunction with the research team when patients are enrolled on clinical trials. Contributes to regional and national collaboration efforts in regards to sickle cell and other clotting disorders to maintain the expected standard of care for the SSCSL patients.
