The primary responsibility of this position is to support research and development efforts for the Tulane Healthy Brain Aging Initiative. The Tulane Healthy Brain Aging Initiative aims to prevent cognitive decline and dementia and to reduce the burden of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The Initiative provides four unique services to Greater New Orleans, Louisiana, and the Gulf Coast region: prevention, treatment, support, and research. The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will play a leading role in the coordination of a large, multicenter study of superior cognitive performance in persons above age 90. That initiative is leveraging EMR registry data from more than 19 universities and 140,000 over 90-year-old subjects with a computable phenotype of successful cognitive aging. The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will also support the development and implementation of investigator-initiated, non-pharmacological clinical trials to promote healthy brain aging. The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will also support the implementation of industry sponsored clinical trials. The ideal candidate will be expected to coordinate submission of research grants for external funding support and for IRB approval, to oversee human subjects enrollment and clinical research activities, and to assist with data management and reporting. The ideal candidate will also be expected to develop budgets and coordinate submission of research grants, including contracts, and financial reporting.
