As part of the news and editorial staff, the Senior Science and Research Writer coordinates and produces content such as feature and short news articles and press releases for a variety of university publications, including Tulane Today, the university’s e-newsletter; and Tulanian, the university magazine, working together with the Editorial Director and other members of the Editorial and Public Relations staff. In this position, the Science and Research Writer will focus their efforts on stories that involve science, health and research, writing stories that reflect Tulane’s position as a leading research university and distilling highly scientific/technical information such as studies, clinical trials and grants into relatable content for a general readership. This position will also support the needs of the Editorial Department with daily responsibilities including occasionally building the newsletter template in Emma, writing brief Announcements and Featured Events, building stories in Drupal, and writing Class Notes for Tulanian magazine.
