Primary responsibility is to provide supervision and oversight of veterinary technicians. Schedules and coordinates veterinary technician labor for research and clinical support services. Interacts with other units in the Division of Veterinary Medicine to assist in the provision of research and clinical support services. Assists with hiring of veterinary technicians. Develops and provides training and quality assurance assessments for Veterinary Technicians and designated Animal Care Technicians who provide research support services and animal health care procedures. Performs related responsibilities as required. Disclosure of confidential or sensitive information observed or heard without proper authorization will be subject to disciplinary action.
May be required to carry a cell phone and be on after hours call. Weekend work hours may be required. Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take specific cautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents. May be designated as essential personnel during a storm/natural disaster. If required to work during a closure, employee must provide accurate and current contact information and is responsible for maintaining communication with TNPRC. Failure to report to work when requested by supervisor or manager will result in disciplinary action as outlined by the Staff Handbook.
