A Research Associate 2 (RA2) position is available in the multi-project analytical laboratory of the Comprehensive Alcohol Research Center under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
The RA2 will be responsible for implementing approved protocols and ensure quality control in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities will include performing daily biological sample processing and storage, performing optimized assays, data collection and analysis.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the candidate will be generally responsible for the routine scientific operations of the laboratory, including training junior level staff members and students.
The incumbent will be trained to use the laboratory information management system and work with the data management personnel to enter data and maintain biospecimen inventory.
The position requires a high level of organization, reliability, intrinsic motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
The position is to replace personnel who has retired from the laboratory.
